Our class on Facebook

If you haven't joined Facebook yet, you should.  It's a great way to stay in touch with people.   If you do join, check out the Facebook group for our class, started by Bryan Mallin.

Why Facebook, and a blog, and a main website?  Well, it's not as redundant as it seems.

  1. The main site, dhsclassof87reunion.com, which we started to coordinate our 20th reunion, gives us a virtual meetingplace to keep contacts and manage future events.
  2. Facebook is a dynamic site, and joining the our class group there will allow you to know when there are updates posted in more detail on the other sites.
  3. And the blog is something you can just stop in and see if there is "news" about our classmates or our class itself (just like you are doing now).

The main reason we have multiple presences on the web is to make it easy for our classmates to find each other, without having to pay for membership on an alumni site.  Also, no one wants to be pestered with a million emails about things happening for our alumni, so having these three options gives you a way to stay in touch when you feel like it.

Meet the Editors: part 1

Our class blog has several editors as of now.  They are:
Tina Purcell Schwartz

All those last names can be confusing, so on the post labels, we're going to stick to just Kirie, Hilary, Tina, Missy, and Cathy on the taglines, so you'll know who is posting each time.

We are going to edit and write for the blog; we invite you to offer suggestions or write posts yourself.  Please submit them to us at our gmail account, deerfieldclasso87@gmail.com.

Your class, your news--on our new blog

Our class blog is officially up and running.  While we won't be posting to this on a daily basis, you can expect to find new announcements, etc, each month or so.

Why a blog?  Well, our original and official website is great for keeping our class list and for coordinating event tickets, etc.  But it isn't as flexible with timely updates.  A blog, though, is perfect for that, so--here it is.  Bookmark it, and check it from time to time.   And send us your latest news.

So, what is happening with you?  Your classmates would love to know--drop us a line.

Coming next--meet the editors.
